Ulco Hydrated Calcitic Lime

Ulco Calcitic Lime is derived from limestone with high calcium content. The stone is heated at approximately 1000 degrees Celsius to produce burnt lime or quick lime. When water is added, it becomes hydrated lime. Ulco Hydrated Calcitic Lime is rich in calcium, and has a much quicker reaction time than most other agricultural liming products. Ulco Hydrated Calcitic Lime is one of the most effective liming products available in South Africa today!

Why Use Ulco Calcitic Lime?

Although hydrated lime is traditionally used in the metallurgy, chemical, pulp & paper and waste treatment sectors, amongst others, SA Lime & Gypsum’s Ulco Calcitic Lime is primarily agricultural lime used as a soil neutraliser.  Due to its high calcium oxide content, calcium is released far quicker than regular calcitic lime, creating an effective natural product which neutralises acidic soils, thereby promoting plant growth. For fast results, a hydrated calcitic lime is highly recommended.
